Mitsubishi Galant engine
As compared with the its competitors engines, the Galant's 2.4 litre four cylinder
engine is not as powerfu such as the 160 horsepower Accord and 175 horsepower
Altima, but this doesn't mean that the Galant was underpowered. The reason behind
is that the Galant's engine develops its utmost torque of 155 lb-ft at 4000 rpm,
about the same as its competitors' engines.

The Galant's engine has a nice even power curve and feels confident off the line.
Mitsubishi Galant engine while on the freeway, turns over 2400 rpm at 100 km/h,
and about 2800 rpm at 120 km/h, and is very quiet. Mitsubishi Galant models are
powered by a 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower at 5,500
rpm, 2.4-liter single overhead camshaft, and 148 lbs.-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm.
This engine features a cast iron block with an aluminum cylinder head, a belt-driven
overhead camshaft, 4-valves-per-cylinder for improved performance and fuel economy.
It has hydraulic valve lash adjusters that do away with the need for future adjustment
and with electronically controlled multi-point fuel injection.
There are techniques of checking the car's engine status, unhooking the battery
if there is any problem arises with the engine performance, is one. But this practice
is not proper since the computer that detects the engine's status lost its essential
functions, when the battery is unhooked. Galant's smoothness and quietness is
greatly improved by Dual Engine Stabilizers, counter-rotating balance shafts inside
the engine block.
