1997 Mitsubishi Galant
Proudly unveiled, Mitsubishi was Japan's latest Car of the Year, for 1997, the
eighth generation Galant. The styling was somewhat less than ground breaking,
yet, in Japan, the range did boast of the revolutionary Gasoline Direct Injection
petrol engines, the GDI. There were some fine-tuning for the Galant, which rolls
out for the 1997 model-year designation in three revised trims. It sports a nose
and tail job, contains new interior perks and wraps all ina 4-door sedan style
with base price falling well below bottom lines of class best-seller cars.

Several cosmetic changes were made to the 1997 Galant, Mitsubishi provided the
base 4-cylinder with two more horsepower. The appearance changed with the addition
of a new grille above the car's reshaped bumper, and the revised taillights. Interiors
featured lighter color schemes, more-contoured front seats, with a higher center
console, and, for the ES and LS, the new elegant accents. Presenting efficiently
rounded form from every angle, Galant earns a pull coefficient the measure of
wind resistance of only 0.29, which positions on top.
